E Eric Guirard Brings Basketball to Business
Baton Rouge, LA (PRWEB) July 31, 2007 -- No stranger to a court of law, local injury lawyer E Eric Guirard (www.eguarantee.com) also is familiar with another kind of court?the basketball court. Guirard, who is referred to by the letter ?E,? has been playing with his ?Sunday Night Basketball Crew? (which consists of Guirard?s high school and college friends, work associates, and employees) for almost 30 years.
Basketball plays an important role in Guirard?s life. ?Just as strategy and execution are crucial elements in basketball, they play similar roles in the cases that my colleagues and I handle every day. In many ways, you can compare a basketball coach to a CEO. They both have to look at overall strategy while encouraging their teams to communicate and work together for positive outcomes. Our weekly game allows us to have fun, exercise, and build camaraderie while playing a sport we love,? Guirard says.?
Guirard?s ?Sunday Night Basketball? game is an invitation-only event that has been played for the last 25 years at the old CYO Center Gym. Though the regular players are mostly comprised of Guirard?s friends and colleagues, over the years a few local celebrities have participated, including Derrick Taylor, Ron Dupree, Eric Martin, Herman Fontenot, Jermaine Williams, Jordy Hultberg, Dennis Brown, Pokey Chatman, Christy Sides, Rep. William Daniel, Judge Wilson Fields, Jack Warner, Brandon Landry, Buddy Songy, and Sean Reilley.
Additionally, Guirard is looking forward to shooting hoops with basketball legend Michael Jordan in just a few short weeks. Guirard will travel to Las Vegas between August 18 and 21 to attend Michael Jordan?s Flight School, an adult basketball camp that concentrates on developing a person?s basketball knowledge and skills. Ranging from Rick Pitino and Tubby Smith to Chuck Daly and Lenny Wilkens, the coaching staff at the school has more than 500 years of combined basketball experience. Guirard hopes to take the lessons learned and apply them to both his law practice and his basketball game.
