High School Sports Magazine to Kick Off in Basketball Season
Louisville, KY (PRWEB) January 23, 2008 -- Communities in the Greater Louisville area will be introduced to a glossy new magazine devoted exclusively to high school sports as lifetime Kentuckian and successful businesswoman Mari DeCamillis Raque launches High School Sports The Magazine: Greater Louisville franchise in March of 2008.
Raque, who graduated from Assumption High School, moved back to Louisville after spending 14 years traveling the world as an officer's wife. Since then she has been a property manager, general manager of a self-storage company, and worked in advertising with a locally published national magazine.
"After growing up in Louisville and now raising my children in a place that I love so much, I seized the opportunity to be a part of something very special in High School Sports The Magazine," said Raque. "HSSTM is such a fantastic way of giving back to the great community of Louisville."
Each issue holds human-interest stories inspired by local student athletes, advice for parents, and electrifying coverage of area high school sporting events. The magazine is free to the community and will be distributed at high-traffic convenient stores, restaurants, and super-markets.
"When I had my first look at High School Sports The Magazine, I asked: 'What took you so long?' Never has such a high-quality monthly magazine been devoted to the achievements of Kentucky high school athletes, their schools and their communities," said Raque. "Louisville will be the 14th franchise of HSSTM and I have no doubts that the community of Louisville, with the level of competition played in the area high schools, will make this franchise of HSSTM the best yet."
Raque is distributing 20,000 copies per issue of High School Sports The Magazine: Greater Louisville at approximately 300 area locations. An online digital version will be available as well. The four-color, 68-page publication will also be distributed to schools and athletic departments.
"We look forward to truly making HSSTM: Greater Louisville a community publication," Raque stated. "We will look to the people of Greater Louisville to help contribute story ideas, photos, and anything else that our readers will want to see. It will also be amazing to produce a community-oriented vehicle such as this for businesses and advertisers in Greater Louisville."
Raque also cited the Chinese philosopher Confucius, "'Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life,'" said Raque. "That is how I feel about this opportunity."
High School Sports The Magazine was founded in 2005 to celebrate the dedication and winning spirit of high school athletes. HSSTM provides unique high school sports coverage and real-life stories about student athletes in each community it serves. HSSTM began franchising its concept in September 2006 and has since grown to fourteen different markets across the country.
